The National Parks a visual guide to visiting eBook Zack Frank Kara QuanMontgomery
First I'd like to say this is not for the hale and hearty die hard hiker. This is for the I want to get away to somewhere pretty and natural. The author offers a clickable Table of Contents, where you have the ability to choose from 30 National Parks from continental United States. When you click on a park there will be a picture and a brief description/history of the park. The next page will include a basic info page, including Best Known Attractions, Established Date, Size, Best Time to Visit, Hours, Entrance Fees, and a link to the park's website, phone numbers and addresses.
The next section would have "Must See Sites", along with descriptions and a photo. Then came "Hidden Gem" followed by more detailed information including Things to Know, Weather, Facilities, Recreation, Pets, and Other Attractions.
What I liked most about this book, is that it describes what a casual visitor needs to know, i.e. pet policies, where can you find food/drinks. Where you can stock up on food/drinks if the park doesn't offer any. Information regarding campsites.
I found most of the photographs to be dramatic and worth looking at. I only wish they could have been larger.
The only issue I really had with this is there were a few typos, the main one that caught my eye was where he discussed "leased dogs" instead of "leashed dogs".
I Highly Recommend this travel book.

The National Parks a visual guide to visiting eBook Zack Frank Kara QuanMontgomery Reviews
I thought it would be detailed showing off the several parks and the sights and camping but instead it was an over paid under developed federally funded project
I would have appreciated a little more detail regarding some of the parks reviewed but I enjoyed this book and the interesting information presented. It really helps you see the natural beauty of many parks and points out important features to see if and/or when you visit.
Nice guide book. I particularly liked the fact that the author included other nearby points of interest for the reader. That was an excellent touch. I've visited many of our National Parks over the years and always look for interesting locations and oddities near them.
This is a really good book but could be great had the author included more pics and more details. Nevertheless
it is a rather exhaustive book and gives you the overview enough so that you can decide if you want to find out more
or actually visit the park. So for that reason it is a good book and I learned about parks that I was not previously
familiar with. I will definitely put on bucket list Carlsbad Caverns. Nice job sir.and thanks for your service

After "The National Parks America's Best Idea," many park guides have been released regarding our natural gems, but few that match up to this guide. The author provides basic summaries, must see sites, hidden gems, things to know, and other attractions in the nearby areas of the park. He wonderfully explains the important and brief history (anthropogenic and natural) about each of the 29 parks that he visits in the guide without sounding like a textbook. And for each park, websites, phone numbers and other details (hours, entrance fees, address) are included in case one wants to learn more about what the NPS has to offer. The photos add that extra spice.
This is a great book about the National Parks with beautiful pictures to match. It is well written, with a chapter on each National Park (30 in all). Each chapter has spectacular photos of attractions, information about the weather (best time to visit), entrance fees, hours, and even phone numbers and addresses. There are must see sites, which detail the site and includes pictures. It has so much information packed into each chapter that you will be glad you have this version with you on your device.
I've really enjoyed this book; it has beautiful photos (some are a bit small, though), and a nice format. Why not 5 stars, you ask? Well, there are a fair number of spelling and grammar mistakes, typically in bunches. Still, I've found this book to be a lot better than the photo books that don't have any actual information, and the information is frequently specific, such as warning certain readers with health problems that they may not want to attempt certain hikes (location 1879), wheelchair accessibility (location 1774, for example), and whether critters are allowed.
I really, REALLY love this book, and I'd like to give it 5 stars, but I just can't. Still, I LOVE it!
