Oh man, I thought Bad Boy Next Door would always be my favorite book by Abigail Graham, but I was wrong. So very wrong. Broken Wings has taken that title of best book ever by Abigail Graham and that's including future books. That's how great this book was. I seriously couldn't put it down, I was at work reading on my phone, I couldn't put it down. This story intrigues you from the very first page and holds your grasp until the end. Jack and Ellie's story will break your heart, because what they went through, no one should. But together, they're stronger than any force that works to keep them apart. Their love is beautiful and proves that when you truly love someone, it's what on the inside that matters. And screw any and everyone who says differently. The whole book Graham has you thinking you know what's going on and who's the bad guy, but she throws a crazy curveball I never saw coming, even though after reading this story it should've been obvious. Graham colored outside the lines with this story. I'm sorry to say, but I don't think there's any topping this one for Graham. If you're a fan, don't miss out on this. Just when I thought Abigail Graham couldn't get any better she did, Wow! This story is both heartbreaking and living. The characters are well written and connect to the reader as well as to each other. The author brings Thierry emotional story alive from the pages of the book. This is a must read for everyone.
There was soooo many books in this one and I love that. I enjoyed the fact they were suspense novels at that. I believe my favorite was the first one. Can't remember the characters name. Honesty I thought these books would have been more steamy. Honestly they kinda of reminded me pre adult booking.. Meaning between teen and adult.
I like how he connected with the kids. He seemed more concerned that the creepy dentist was eyeing the young girl than her mother. I really liked that he stood by the family though. His trainer was a horrible man. I liked the book. I will plan to read the others in the series. The other books were all good. I really liked the one with the kids that were separated for 10 years. Saw that step mother coming. The one with the kids and the evil parents in paradise falls was good. Plan to read paradise falls. Need to see what is up with Jacob and Jennifer.
I had no idea what to expect with this story. Its a beautiful romance, at its core, about overlooking the exterior to see what truly makes a person beautiful. A turn of gender roles from Beauty and the Beast, if you will. I read through it much faster than I expected, but it was that kind of story that compelled you to continue turning the page. Ellie's struggle with the aftermath of her accident while uncovering secrets about said accident was a little dark, a little twisted, raw and real. Meanwhile, Jack was a combination of soft and tough that girls dream about in a man.
Ever since I began reading this author, I have nothing but maximum praise for her expertise in story telling and am happy to purchase her stories on top of my ARC! I will repeat what other reviewers have said, wow! The title infers that Ellie has broken wings and it is true; however what is broken is not physical as much as emotional and mental. Jack has the strength to come back to her as a grownup instead of the boy that he was sent away as.Jack's dad is an idiot which he finally admits to. Hang onto that as the story unfolds. I did not get who might have tried to destroy Ellie until 2/3rds through. Then it all makes sense. Get this steamy thriller and see if you agree or do you catch on much quicker than I did? This author is amazing and every one of her stories is on my list of to be read without bothering to read the synopsis. I have never regretted any purchases.
Graham is one of my new favorite authors. This story is a wonderful romantic suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat, even in the last few pages you are unsure what the ending is going to be. Jack and Ellie are wonderfully complex and well written characters. The story line is well plotted and moves down a path that is dark and scary. Grammar is well done with no obvious mistakes. The secondary characters are not as fleshed out as they could have been. I think the story would have been even better if we had better understanding of the deeper and less superficial motivations of these supporting roles. However, it was an exciting book and one well worth reading, like all of her books I've read so far.
I bought this on 2/6/16. I'd like to know what black hole this fell into!
This was one fantastic story. I absolutely loved it. I love the cross country road trip. The Grand Canyon. The Hoover Dam. The Pacific Ocean. The bed and breakfast. I loved how they just up and got married. Talk about romantic! I loved how they saved themselves for each other. I loved how a Jack didn't give up on Ellie. Ellie broke my heart. She thought she was broken. It took every moment in Jack's existence to make her believe she wasn't. It was so beautiful how he treated her. Jack wins the award for most swoon worthy character. I loved their relationship. It was really hot, yet romantic. I loved them together.
I throughly enjoyed this read. I'd recommend.
